Miguel González-Fierro is a Sr. Data Scientist Lead at Microsoft UK, where his job consists of helping customers improve their processes using Machine Learning. He is currently an Industry Advisory Board Member at Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, and serves in the board of several startups.
Previously, he was CEO and founder of Samsamia Technologies, a company that created a visual search engine for fashion items allowing users to find products using images instead of words, and founder of the Robotics Society of Universidad Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M), which developed different projects related to robotics and 3D printers.
Miguel also worked in academia as a robotics scientist at UC3M, and collaborated with King's College London (KCL), where his research focused on machine learning and dynamic control of humanoid robots. He continues to actively contribute to the area of AI and robotics, and has more than 100 publications in these areas.
He holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering and a MSc in Robotics by UC3M, a PhD in Robotics by UC3M in collaboration with KCL and is a graduate by MIT Sloan School of Management.
Miguel was awarded with a number of recognitions including Data Scientist of the Year (2019), UC3M Excelent Alumni Award (2019), Outstanding Thesis Award (2015) and several prizes related to entrepreneurship. The full list is available on Linkedin.
