Bio
Miguel González-Fierro is a Principal Data Scientist Manager at Microsoft UK, where his job consists of helping large companies to implement AI solutions using Microsoft's Cloud: Azure. His team supports multiple industries such as retail, CPG, finance, marketing, energy, media, car industries, and others, within a wide range of AI areas including recommendation systems, NLP, computer vision, time series forecasting, and other machine learning techniques.
In addition, Miguel is serving as an Industry Advisory Board Member at Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London where he helps to drive the commercial strategy.
Previously, he was CEO and founder of Samsamia Technologies, a company that created a visual search engine for fashion items allowing users to find products using images instead of words, and founder of the Robotics Society of Universidad Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M), which developed different projects related to robotics and 3D printers.
Miguel also worked in academia as a robotics scientist at UC3M, and collaborated with King's College London (KCL), where his research focused on machine learning and dynamic control of humanoid robots. He continues to actively contribute to the area of AI and robotics, and has more than 100 publications in these areas.
He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and an MSc in Robotics by UC3M, a PhD in Robotics by UC3M in collaboration with KCL and is a graduate of MIT Sloan School of Management.
